Susan Todorow Rohrman

Susan Todorow Rohrman, EdD, of Oriental, NC, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2017 after a brief illness. She was 61.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Gregory Rohrman, her sons Justin Rohrman (Maxine), Patrick Rohrman (Ashlie), her daughter, Sarah Rohrman, and her granddaughter Ruby Rohrman. Additionally, she is survived by her mother, Susan Marie Todorow, brothers Walter Todorow (Sally), Thomas Todorow (Kristen), Christopher, and Matthew Todorow (Linda). She is also survived by her sisters Patty Pelequin (Dennis), and Mary Ellen Rodgers (Ronald). She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Todorow, and her nephew Ryan Pelequin. She was the loving Aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Susan was proudest of being a wife and mother. She loved her children unconditionally, and was immensely proud of each of them. She took great joy, and pride, in their independence, their creativity, their love for family, and their dedication to service for others.

Susan devoted her life to teaching and learning. During her nearly forty years as an educator she taught at Middle Township High School (NJ), was an administrator in the Wildwood School District (NJ), criss-crossed the country training and teaching for the American Reading Company (PA), and finally returned to her true love, the classroom, as a teacher at the Arapahoe Charter School (NC). In 1998 she was selected as the Teacher of the Year for Cape May County. She held degrees from West Chester State College (BA), Glassboro State College (MA), Rowan University (MS), and Wilmington University (EdD). She also held several teaching and administrative certificates.

In addition to her beloved family, she leaves behind thousands of children whose lives she improved and inspired, and hundreds of teachers and school administrators who learned from her, and respected her.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 402 Freemason St, Oriental, NC 28571 on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with The Reverend Jeremiah Day officiating. There will be a visitation vigil the evening before, beginning at 7:00 p.m., at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Interment will be private.
