Shawn Lee Hopkins

Shawn Lee Hopkins, August 24, 1981-May 18, 2017, 35, of Hwy 33, Aurora.

Shawn has gone to fly with the eagles, to watch over his family and keep them safe. He was a caring, loving father and son. He would do anything to help anyone in need.

He was a hard worker and enjoyed driving so much he became a truck driver, although he himself didn’t like fish, he knew how to keep them alive and get them where they were going. It broke his heart when he could no longer drive a truck.

Everyone always saw the big, tough guy but his family saw a loving, giving man that would give you his last dollar and go without himself.

He is survived by his daughter, Samantha Hopkins; his son, Justin Watkins; and their mother, Sherri Hopkins; his mother, Janet Hopkins-Spalti; stepfather, Russell Spalti; and brothers, Joseph Spalti (Heather), Matthew Spalti, Erick Spalti (Leeann); and Michael Spalti (Bridget); and his maternal grandmother, Eleanor Barthel.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenney Hopkins; maternal grandfather, George Barthel; paternal grandfather, Earnest Hopkins Sr.; paternal grandmother, Sarah Potter; and her husband, Earl Potter.

A memorial bonfire will be held at a future date, watch Facebook for date and time.
