Kenneth Hopkins Hudson

September 25, 1944 — July 23, 2017

Kenneth “Hop” Hudson, 72, of Pamlico County passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2017.

Born to Isaac James Hudson and Ruth Woodard Hudson in 1944 in Raleigh, North Carolina. He grew up in Vandemere, North Carolina, where he loved waterskiing, boat racing and football. After graduating from UNC Chapel Hill he returned to the only place he could call home, Pamlico County.

Hop enjoyed a successful career in medical equipment sales and eventually started his own company. He was an avid, passionate fisherman and hunter. Hop adored his family and friends and was an active member of Bayboro United Methodist Church, Pamlico County Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and the community of Pamlico County.

Hop is survived by daughter, Kristen Hudson Fuller and husband, Mike; grandson, Luca; brother, Dr. Richard Hudson and wife, Jeannette; brother, Jimmy (deceased) and family, Nancy and Jessica; niece, Terry and family, Luke and Hudson; nephew, Richard Hudson and wife, Christie, and family, Richard “Trey”, Christian and Lillie Grace; niece, Karen Hudson Stanley (deceased) and family, Ben. Additional family members include Ann Walker Hudson, David Traub and Jennifer Morgan.

His memorial service will be held 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 25th at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends and relatives prior to the service from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to one’s favorite charity or Bayboro United Methodist Church, PO Box 64, Bayboro, NC 28515.
