Etles Allen Henries Sr., 88, of Aurora passed away Monday, September 11, 2017, at CarolinaEast Medical Center surrounded by his wife and children.
Mr. Henries was a hard working entrepreneur who spent his entire life on the water. He was active in politics and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was also a charter member of Lowland Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, Alvin Henries.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Henries; children, Etles Henries, Jr., Linda Henries Norfleet, Iris Henries Martin, Debra “Debbie” Henries Flowers, Angela “Angie” Henries, Michael “Mike” Henries, and Mary Henries Peele; sister, Gladys Henries Shelton; brother, Albin Henries; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Lowland Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Phillip Lewis officiating. Interment will be private at South Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home, Alliance.
