Franklin M. Keller, 87, of Oriental, went to his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, September 19, 2017.
He was born November 28, 1929 in Birmingham, Alabama. He served four years in the Navy, during his service he married, Elsie Boykin on August 3, 1951. He graduated from Auburn University in 1957 with an Aeronautical Engineering Degree. He worked for McDonnel Douglas, working on the Thor and Delta programs and also the Space Station. He retired after 35 years with MDC in California and moved to Oriental in 1996. He attended Pamlico United Methodist Church.
He liked boating, fishing and riding his motorcycle with his wife or just to the beach to bodysurf.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elsie Keller; son, Franklin Keller Jr.; daughter, Pak Ingram and her husband, Robert; son, James C. Keller; son, Gordon Keller and wife, Loana; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
His memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, October 7th at Pamlico United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Pamlico United Methodist Church, 4288 Orchard Creek Rd., Oriental, NC 28571 or Hospice of Pamlico, 602 Main St., Bayboro, NC 28515.
