Elizabeth Lupton Cahoon

Elizabeth “Libby” Lupton Cahoon, 83, of Grantsboro passed away Friday, September 29, 2017, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always put her family ahead of herself. She was raised and spent all of her life on the water and enjoyed spending time there with her family and animals.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Horace Lupton; sister, Bessie Cook; great-grandson, Devin Cahoon; and life-long dearest friend, Reba Harris.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William H. “Billy” Cahoon; children, Marian C. Bissett (Harold), Bobby Cahoon (Teresa), William Cahoon (Patsy), and Lela C. McClanahan (Harold Hardison); 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Her funeral will be held 2 p.m., Monday, October 2nd at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow immediately in Sandhill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Pamlico County Rescue, PO Box 302, Bayboro, NC 28515.
