June Strong Carpenter

June Strong Carpenter – Oriental, NC

June passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017, at the age of 93. She was born in Washington, DC and is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph A. Carpenter.

June is survived by her children, Judith Carpenter Johnston of Austin, TX, Stephen and his wife, Cynthia of Greenville, NC and Joyce Carpenter of Oriental; four grandchildren, David and Brett Carpenter, Kyle Hendrickson and Jessie Gonia; and five great grandchildren.

June was active in the arts community for many years and was a founding member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. She was also very involved in the Oriental Childrens Theatre for more than a decade.

Her memorial service and celebration of life will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church on Thursday, October 26th at 1:00 p.m. Reception and interment following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Oriental Childrens Theatre, St. Thomas Episcopal Church or Pamlico County Hospice.
