Theodore (Ted) Norman Taylor age 53 passed away on January 5, 2018 of a heart attack. He had heart problems for several years. Ted was born November 25, 1964 in Fairfax, VA. He is survived by his wife Kimberly Taylor and two step daughters, his Mother Judith (Goodhue) Hayes, his brother Mark Taylor (Lori) of Annapolis, a niece Morgan Taylor and nephew Samuel Taylor of Annapolis, uncle Merle Taylor (Mary) of Wells, Maine, Aunt Dawn Bean (Len) of Waterboro, Maine and many cousins. His father Merrill Taylor predeceased Ted in 2009.
Ted attended Park View High School in Sterling, VA. Soon after, enlisting in the U.S. Army and served as a paratrooper medic with duty in S. Korea.
Ted made an impact on everyone he met due to his generosity, caring ways, and love of people. Ted moved to Oriental, NC in 2012, a much beloved area with his wife Kimberly. Ted, ever the avid fisherman, thoroughly enjoyed Oriental’s extensive waterways. He was also extremely knowledgeable about the civil war, reading and researching various battles and conflicts. Most of all, he enjoyed entertaining his friends and family and loved grilling almost daily. There were no strangers to Ted as he was friendly and helpful to everyone.
Services will be held at Bryant Funeral Home, 52 Bryant St., Alliance, NC 28509 on Feb. 10. Visitation at 10 a.m. followed by celebration of life at 11 a.m. Color Guard ceremony and presentation of taps and flag will conclude the service. His ashes will be spread over the Neuse River.
