Alice Gauniel Smith

Alice Marie Gauniel Smith, 92, of Grantsboro, NC passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

Alice had a passion for cooking, you could always find her in the kitchen. She also loved every second of every family get together which was usually every Saturday afternoon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Smith; father, Paul Gauniel; mother, Margaret Gauniel; daughter, Carla Gagnon; granddaughter, Lisa Peele; and her seven siblings, Paul A. Gauniel, Paulien Debarry, Margaret Daily, George Gauniel, Shirely Pavalos, and Larry Gauniel.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons, Robert Smith, Jr. and Mark Smith; daughter, Veronica Clark; four grandchildren, Eric Clark, Lynn Curren, Robert S. Smith III, and Christopher Gagnon; eight great grandchildren, Amanda, Joshua S., Emily, Hunter, Logan, William, Joshua P, and James; 10 great-great grandchildren, Asher, Oliver, Chola, Krista, Hunter, Logan, Carter, Carson, Arabella, and Caroline; and many cousins.

A service will be held at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3rd.
