Mrs. Alice Ann Dixon Woodard, 94 of Reelsboro went home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 14, 2024, at her home.
She took great joy in being a pastor’s wife serving with her husband at several churches including Sneads Ferry, Swansboro, Calvary, Goose Creek, Oriental, Friendship, and their home church, Reelsboro Pentecostal Holiness Church. She enjoyed working in the church, putting on Sunday School attendance campaigns, singing, working with Women’s Ministries and many other roles throughout her years of serving. She had precious memories from serving many years at Falcon Youth Camp alongside her husband. Even in her later years, she seldom missed any services or events when the church doors were open. She was a witness for Jesus Christ to everyone she met. She loved spending time not only with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but with her church family as well.
She is predeceased by her husband, Reverend Henry Pascal “HP” Woodard, and her son, Floyd Eugene “Gene” Woodard. She is survived by her daughter, Angie Bell (Albert) of Pollocksville; and son, Alan Woodard (Paula) of Reelsboro; eight grandchildren: Martin Woodard, Matthew Woodard, Robbie Ann Sawyer (Rodney), Michelle Sheaffer (Matt), Jessica Harper (Gerald), Kelsey Sauerbier (Daniel), Ashlynne Peters (Jonathan) and Jordan Woodard (Melissa); eleven precious great-grandchildren: Wilson Sawyer, Allison Sawyer, Jamison Sheaffer Sawyer (Stephen), Jackson Sheaffer, Johnson Sheaffer, Micah Dietz, Nathan Harper, Emma Peters, Evan Peters, William Woodard, Daniel Woodard and a beloved nephew, Nat Martin, and wife, Brenda.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, October 17th, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Reelsboro Pentecostal Holiness Church and at other times at Mrs. Alice’s residence. The funeral service will be Friday, October 18th, 11:00 a.m. at Reelsboro Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Alan Woodard and Rev. Curtis Hill officiating. Burial will follow at the Sandhill Cemetery in Reelsboro.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kenyan Destitute Childrens’ Fund, c/o Reelsboro Pentecostal Holiness Church, 221 Neuse Rd., New Bern, NC 28560.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the caregivers and staff at Trinity Adult and Senior Services and Gentiva Hospice for the care, love, and kindness shown to her and the family.
