Alston Whitfield Daniels, Sr.

Alston “Al” Whitfield Daniels, Sr., 87, of New Bern, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at home.

Little Al was born in Pungo, NC, served in the Navy in the Korean war, and worked in Navy shipyards. He held various interesting jobs, eventually joining Weyerhaeuser, which brought him to New Bern. He worked at Weyerhaeuser until he retired in 1997 and never looked back. Little Al enjoyed every minute of his retirement and lived life to the last moment. Passing from this world to the arms of Jesus.

He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Woodward Daniels, and brother, JT Daniels.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol Schneider Hardison (Dennis) of Arapahoe; sons, Edward (Eddie) Schneider (Bonnie) of TN and Alston W “Danny” Daniels Jr. of AZ; and grandchildren, Amber N. Welch (David) of TX, Christan Serrianne of TN, and Anthony Serrianne (Whitney) of IN.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Greenleaf Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
