Amelia Ann Slade Spencer

Amelia Ann Slade Spencer, 83, of Grantsboro, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 1, 2026.

A devoted woman of faith, Ameila was a longtime member of New Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary and was a former Sunday School teacher.

Amelia’s strong work ethic was evident throughout her life. She began her career with the Town of Bayboro Water Dept. before spending many years as a bookkeeper with Rossi Automotive. She also fulfilled a dream of owning and operating Wendy’s County Kitchen in Reelsboro.

Above all, Amelia treasured her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose greatest joy came from spending time with those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Love Slade.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 63 years, Tommy Spencer, Jr.; her son, Tommy Spencer III (Vicky); her daughter, Christina “Christie” Marie Spencer Casper (Warren); foster daughter, Barbara Hallquist; sisters, Marcia Spencer and Narona Desmond (John); her beloved grandchildren, Micheal Spencer, Bryce Casper and Josh Casper; and her foster grandchildren, Noelle and Soren Hallquist.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5th at New Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Ashley Trogdon officiating. Interment will be held privately in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service inside the sanctuary at the church.
