Angela Huffman Blackiston

September 25, 1964 — August 1, 2021

Angela "Gay" Huffman was born in Englewood California on September 25, 1964. Her father moved the family to Tustin Hills where Angela grew up.  She attended Foot Hill High School where she excelled in academics, sports and drama.  Angela was the star of the musical "South Pacific" in her senior year at Foothill and stole the show with her voice.  Angela took 3rd place in the hurdles for California.  She attended Orange Coast College and Long Beach State studying design which led to a fabulous career in the Fashion Industry, working directly with Giants such as the Nordstrom family and other famous designers around the globe.

Angela met Hal Blackiston in Long Beach in 1990, they were married at Calvary Chapel on June 15, 1991, under the "Crossed Swords" of Hal's fellow Naval Officers.  Lt. Hal Campbell (Hal's Best Friend) delivered the traditional swat on the rear welcoming her to the Navy! Together they had two cherished sons, Caleb and Luke.  Angela stayed home with the boys until they were in middle school when she decided to reenter the workplace.  Angela managed the Pier One Store in Manassas VA., where she met her Best Friend Forever Mrs. Deanna Gage.  Deanna and Tim's daughters, Elise and Jess, were just like daughters to Angela and Hal...

Angela took the job of Director of Events for the Marine Corps University Foundation in 2008 where she spent 10 years supporting the Marine Corps University in planning and executing fund raising events all over the country. Her efforts resulted in significant increases in the University's endowment.  Angela loved the University and all there loved her. There are special people she demanded be mentioned: B Gen. Tom and Sandi Draude, Lt Gen. Rich and Pat Mills, Michael and Kimberly Niero, Col. Jon and Leona Sachrison, Lt Col. John and Vicky Hales, Melissa and Stan and her favorite Trustee Jordan Saunders and her husband Tom.

Angela was very active in church service leading Vacation Bible School in churches in California and Virginia.  She sang in the Church Worship Band at Manassas St. Thomas United Methodist Church. Thank you, Rodney, Abbey, Brian, Tammy, Ryan, Bill, Jhenny, Elana, and Eric.  Angela loved singing with you guys. She was an active listener and counselor to women of all walks of faith and careers.  She truly was SO MUCH TO SO MANY!!!

Angela and Hal were blessed to work for the Best company on the planet, CPS.  Phil and Tom's dedication and loyalty to its employees FAR surpassed, any of its competitors. Angela and Hal will always treasure the memory of CPS. Tom and Teri will always be in Angela’s and Hal’s Heart

Angela and Hal found their dream retirement home on the “Inner Banks” of North Carolina. A home on the water in Merritt North Carolina that captured their hearts. Angela was able to enjoy the water in Bay River for a short period of time before disease took her from the ones she loved.  Our new neighbors on "Point of View" poured out their love for Angela, she loved them so much. Thank You Phil, Allen and Debbie, Jim and Dianna, Tom and Trish!

Hal and Angela found a small Methodist church in Pamlico where they found true Christian love from the entire congregation.  Her body will be laid to rest in the church cemetery that overlooks the river, sail boats, which she loved, and her Marines flying overhead keeping watch from their home at MCAS Cherry Point. The setting could not be more perfect for our Girl!

Angela is survived by her husband Hal, Sons: Caleb and Luke and Daughter-in-law Chelsie. Caleb and Chelsie are pregnant with Angela and Hal's first grandbaby: Baby "Natalie Jane" due October 27, 2021.  She is also survived by Virginia (Mom number 2), her sisters Pam and Janice and brother Ken; and her nieces: Ashley, Jennifer, and Jamie, and her nephews: Christopher, Jason, Matthew, Travis and Marcus (whose is celebrating in Heaven with Angela). On Hal’s side she is survived by her sister Lydia, brother Larry (in Heaven celebrating with her), nieces Leslie and Ashley and grand niece and nephew Grace and Liam. She Loved them All and They Loved
Her!!!

Angela went to be with the Lord on August 1st in her home with family present for her last smile and breath.  Hearts are breaking all over the Country for this "Angel" and Hal's Princess. But she is now in the arms of our Dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ resting and
rejoicing with all who went before her!

Her Prayer for those left behind: Love Jesus with all your Hearts and Mind, Love each other endlessly and look forward to seeing Her again in Glory Land.
