Bayard "Skip" Church Fenner

Bayard Church Fenner, 88, of Merritt passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

Bayard, known as Skip to many, never met a stranger. He honorably service in the U.S. Air Force. His love of sailing brought him to Pamlico County and Bay River after retiring from Brookhaven National Laboratory in New York.

He was preceded in death by parents, Bayard and Doris Fenner; son, Mark Fenner; and brother, Tommy Fenner.

Skip will be lovingly remembered by his companion, Debra Murray; daughters, Debbie Welch (Kevin), and Tracy Kom (Larry); grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; and loving four-legged companion, MacGyver.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to P.A.W.S. PO Box 888, Oriental, NC 28571.
