Betty Jean Harris Rowe

Betty Harris Rowe, 91, of New Bern, passed away, Sunday, November 26, 2023, at The Homeplace of New Bern.  Betty was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.  Betty’s dedication to her family was foremost and she loved them all dearly.  She was the happiest when she was with her husband, O.V., who she lovingly referred to as “Honey”.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Jean Harris of New Bern.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 70 years, Orell (O.V.) Rowe; daughters, Kathy R. McKenna and husband, Charles; Jeannie R. Holton and husband, Dennis; and son, Fred Rowe and husband, John; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, and one brother, Bill Harris of New Bern.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, New Bern, N.C.

Her celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 7th at First Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden with the Rev. Dr. Anna Pinckney Straight officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 1423 #A South Glenburnie Road, New Bern, NC 28562.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Homeplace and Gentiva Hospice for the care and love that they provided for Betty during her illness.
