It is with tremendous shock and sadness that we announce the death of Pamlico County’s Brandon Elbert Ward. Brandon (50 yrs old) was a top tier commercial waterproofer by trade who worked alongside many members of the Ward family for his father’s business. On his off time, he was undoubtedly one of the most accomplished outdoorsmen of the region. He was extremely well versed in wildlife behavior, and an impeccable marksman. Hunting and fishing of every species imaginable in eastern NC was not only something he treasured, but what he flourished and thrived at as well. He shared dreams of going out west with family again for a challenge, maybe this time to hunt for Coues deer in New Mexico. Outdoor sports will now have even greater meaning to the Ward family, as we know he will always be with us in the woods and on the water.
Brandon is survived by: His children, Dustin, Grace and Mitchell. His parents, Johnny and Rosie Ward. His brothers, RJ Ward and Dewey Ward. We will remember his instigating pranks, goofy jokes and word play, and countless hours of laughter he shared with all of us. To say he will always be loved and missed is an understatement.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday August 1, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel, with a 2:00 pm visitation and 3:00 pm service.
We ask that any monetary donations be made to the Take a Kid Fishing Foundation in Brandon’s honor.
