Brenda Walker Turnage

Brenda Walker Turnage, 60, of Bayboro passed away at home on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, surrounded by family.

Originally from Beaufort County, Brenda was born on June 4, 1964, the youngest of five children. She moved to Pamlico County when she started her family with her husband at the time, Dwight Turnage. A devoted homemaker, Brenda devoted her life to nurturing her children. As her children got older, she was the secretary in the family business for Turnage Construction & Trucking, Inc.

As a cherished mother and grandmother, her love knew no limits. Brenda took immense pride in her roles, ensuring she was present for every school event and spent most every Saturday at the race track supporting her son. Her compassion and dedication remained a consistent source for her three grandchildren.

Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Voliva Walker; father, Jesse Linwood Walker; brothers, Hal Duffy “H.D.” Walker and Richard “Dickie” Walker; and sister, Darnella “Nellie” Barber.

Those left to treasure her memory are her son, Dustin (Kelsey); daughter, Courtney (Drew); father of her children, Dwight; three grandchildren, Jackson Sadler, Scarlett Sadler; and Natalie Turnage; sister, Katie Stilley; her lifelong friend, Linda Archbell; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

To honor Brenda’s wishes, there will not be any services.
