Carol Lee Gallahan

Carol Lee Gallahan, formerly of Westminster, Maryland, died Saturday, August 4, 2018, at her residence in Merritt, North Carolina.

Carol is survived by her husband, Phillip C. Gallahan; her daughter, Rachel L. Gallahan; her mother, Margaret H. Sween; her sisters, Susan Leary, Nancy Sween, and Laura Vosloh; her brother, William C. Sween; and her nieces, Amanda Sweeney, Kate Ireland Leary, Emily Helen Bartgis, and April and Alta Sween.  Phillip and Carol's son, Aaron C. Gallahan, predeceased Carol on August 16, 2015.

Carol was a 911 dispatcher for Montgomery County, Maryland, for over 15 years.  Carol excelled at reassuring people experiencing life threatening situations and received a commendation for convincing a young man not to commit suicide after he accidentally shot and killed an acquaintance.

Carol was an avid gardener, a talented artist, and loved animals of all kinds.  Carol's idea of the perfect day would be sitting on the beach at Hatteras with family on a warm summer afternoon. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
