Catherine "Susie" Suzanne Patterson

Catherine Suzanne “Susie” Higgins Patterson, 67, of New Bern passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

Susie worked at Hatteras Yachts for 15 years then worked and retired from MOEN after 23 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her father, R. L. Higgins, Jr.; husbands, Jerome Gaskins and Linwood Patterson; and sister, Carol Higgins Sawyer.

She is survived by her mother, Della Williams Higgins; daughter, Betty Smith; son, Jerry Gaskins (Lynn); brothers, Jerry Higgins (Cheryl) and Bill Higgins (Dawn Collier); sister, Joan Warren (Doug); five grandchildren, Tiffany Gaskins, Kaitlynn Gaskins, Jerry Gaskins, Jr., Felicia Smith, and Maranda Smith; one great grandchild, Elijah Smith; her fur baby, Cookie Patterson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 6:00 p.m., Thursday, September 23rd at Crossroads Baptist Church in New Bern.

In lieu of flowers the family requested memorial contributions be made to Bryant Funeral Home, PO Box 99, Alliance, NC 28509.
