Cecil Cowell Nobles, 87, of Bayboro passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at home.
He attended Word Fellowship Church and is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Cecil worked as a self-employed plumber and later retired from U.S. Civil Service-Cherry Point. After he retired he found enjoyment in helping his late friend, Billy Paul, with construction. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and friends, working in his yard, and cooking for others. His favorite pastime was reading and taking care of his cat, Rose.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas McCotter Nobles and Laura Cowell Nobles; wife, Cynthia Lupton Nobles; son, Dallas Nobles, Sr.; grandsons, Trace Allen Nobles and Damian Ray Nobles; and three sisters, Betty Walker, Rae Lockey, and Dora White.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son, Mark Nobles (Tonya); daughters, Kathy Jones and Penney Lewis; brother, Bobby Nobles; sister, Frances Mills; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service to honor Cecil’s life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 15th at Word Fellowship Church with the Rev. Owen Lupton and Rev. Scott Peed officiating, and military honors provided by U.S. Navy. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
