Charles Jennings Mccotter Iii

Charles Jennings McCotter III (“Buddy”) passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9th, 2024.

He was born in Pamlico County, NC on September 26, 1945, to Charles J McCotter, II and Frances Gray McCotter. He was their only beloved child. He earned a BS degree from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. He worked for Hardee’s Food Systems in Rocky Mount, NC where he raised his three children. He later moved to Virginia Beach, VA where he had a career working at JMAC Realty and Development as a real estate developer.

He is best known for his fun-loving, light-hearted spirit. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and card player.

Charlie is survived by his children, Stephanie Weatherspoon and husband, Will of Raleigh, Laura Fricano and husband, Jeff of Charlotte, and Craig McCotter of Bolivia; seven grandchildren, Emily and Hardy Weatherspoon, William, Andrew, and Caroline Fricano, and Jack and Josie McCotter.

His final resting place is located at Celestial Memorial Gardens in Vandemere, NC.
