Charlie Harrison Cooke

Charlie Harrison Cooke, 84, of Virginia Beach, Va. passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021.

He is a member of Lynnhaven United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.  He was a Full Professor at Old Dominion University for 40 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, specifically the mountains, and was an avid tennis player. He also enjoyed playing chess and reading western books.

He was preceded in death by his son, John Paul Cooke and brother, Clay Cooke.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Lee Cooke; daughters, Jennifer (Guy) Staat, Kathy (Peter) Skomoroch and Amy Cooke; brothers, Harvey Cooke, Spurgeon Cooke and Duane Cooke; and granddaughter, Kate Skomoroch.

Interment will be in Don Lee Cemetery, Arapahoe, NC. A service will be announced at a later date.
