Christine Angel Sides

Christine Angel Sides, 78, of Wilmington, formerly of Arapahoe, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 2, 2026.

Born to the late Lee Oliver Angel and Maxine Willis Angel, Christine lived a life marked by love, service, and devotion to family and community. She spent 30 years shaping young minds as a teacher at Pamlico Junior High School, now Pamlico Middle School. Teaching was not just her profession – it was her calling. Generations of students remember her for her patience, kindness, and unwavering belief in their potential.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randy Sides, her parents and her identical twin sister, Maxine Copeland.

She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply: her daughter, Rachel Manning and husband, Richard; her son, Kirk Angel; her brother, Andy Angel and wife, Jenny; her brother-in-law, Bill Copeland; four grandsons, Cale Manning, Holt Manning, Barrett Angel, and Cam Angel; and her great-grandson, Andrew Manning.

Her legacy will live on through the family she loved, the students she inspired, and the many friends who were blessed to know her.

A memorial service to honor her life will be held Wednesday, February 11th at 2:00 p.m. at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Roach officiating. Inurnment will follow immediately in Banks Cemetery, Arapahoe.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
