Curtis Clifton Ireland, Sr. “Stakes”, 93, of Lowland passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Grantsbrook Nursing & Rehab Center.
He is a member of Lowland Church of Christ. As a member of the U.S. Army, he served in the Korean War. Known to friends as Stakes, he worked as a commercial fisherman for years before he began working on the Tugboat for over 30 years. He loved the water and enjoyed time spent fishing with his buddy, Mr. Roy Watson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Eula Ireland; son, Jason Lee Ireland; and brothers, Royce, Buster, Robert, Floyd, and E.T. Ireland.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean Ireland; son, Curtis C. “Cliff” Ireland, Jr. (Linda); daughters, Michelle McKay (Randy) and Julie Hannah (Jason); sister, Shelby Keech; grandchildren, Beca McKay, Addie McKay, Allison Hannah, Jonathan Hannah, Christian Ireland (Ashlyn), Hunter Ireland, C.J. Ireland, and Cody Benton; and one great-grandchild, Mason Lee.
His funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 29 th at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel. Interment with military honors will be held at Sandhill Cemetery immediately following the service.
The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
