Dale Louis Philippi

August 9, 1941 — July 9, 2018

Dale Philippi, 76, of New Bern passed away Monday, July 9, 2018, at the Veterans Home in Kinston, NC, and is now in heaven with his Savior.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David Walter and Ila Mae Braughler Philippi; brothers, Lynn, Wendell and Donald Philippi; first wife, Mildred Philippi; and sister, Leona Spon.

He is survived by his wife, “the love of his life”, Arlene Philippi; sons, Andrew and Jeffrey Philippi; step-daughter, Angela Scamordella; daughter-in-law, Pamela Philippi; sisters, Ellen Chambers and Beverly Philippi; brother-in-law, Bernard Spon; sister-in-law, Betsy Philippi; and three grandchildren, Tyler, Arianna and Zoe Scamordella.

Dale grew up in Rochester Mills, PA, and was an Army veteran.  He moved to MD and then NC.  He was a refrigeration mechanic for Maola for 10 years.  He loved his God, his family and his church! Dale had a servant’s heart and was kind, loving and selfless! A member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, he served as a deacon, greeter, AWANA leader, bus driver and mission trip participant.

His memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm, Sunday, July 15 at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Dr. Scott Gleason officiating.  The family will receive friends and relatives immediately following the service at the church.
