David "Dave" Michael Knoll

David Michael Knoll

June 10, 1962 – July 14, 2023

On Friday, July 14, 2023, David Michael Knoll fell asleep in death at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern, NC, after a brief and unexpected illness. He was 61 years old.

Dave was born in Richmond, Virginia.  He was the youngest of three children born to Bob and Viola Knoll.  At the tender age of 5, Dave and his family made North Carolina their home.

A member of the Trent River Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 8 years, Dave dedicated his life to serving his God Jehovah on July 12, 1980.  While a young man, he volunteered his time and talents wherever needed by serving full-time at Bethel in New York.

If you spent any time with Dave, you knew that he loved people, loved talking to them, and especially enjoyed telling stories of his life. He had strong convictions in his faith, and he loved talking about that faith and his love for Jehovah most of all. It was very important to him, and he shared it with all that he met.

Second only to his love for Jehovah was his love for his wife Penelope. Dave met Penelope at the tender age of 13 when they were both part of the then newly formed Clayton Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  Life took them in different directions for many years, but they were later reunited and married on September 27, 2013.  When Dave would tell stories of their meeting and finding each other again, he would always speak of her as being the love of his life.

Passionate and knowledgeable about water and boats, Dave was a skilled Marine Technician. If you had a problem with your boat that you couldn’t figure out, he was the man to see.  He could not only diagnose the problem, but he was a master at fixing it.

Generous and kind, Dave will be missed by all who knew and loved him, most especially by his wife, Penelope. We all look forward to the day when we will see him again, resurrected to perfect health on a paradise Earth.

A memorial service for David Knoll will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 2750 Amhurst Boulevard, New Bern, NC, on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 2pm.
