Della Elizabeth Hodges Mitchell

Della Elizabeth Hodges Mitchell, 86, of Reelsboro, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Grantsbrook Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Elizabeth was a hardworking and devoted woman whose greatest joy in life was her family. Throughout the years, she was employed at several local businesses, including Hudson Manufacturing in the sewing room, Dollar General, and Britthaven of Pamlico, now known as Grantsbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Wherever she worked, Elizabeth was known for her kindness, dedication, and warm spirit.

Above all else, Elizabeth cherisher her role as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She treasured the time spent with her family and created countless memories that will be forever held close by those who loved her. Her gentle heart, unwavering love, and caring nature touched many lives and will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harvey Randolph Mitchell; two brothers, and one sister.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Brenda M. Croom and husband, Dwayne; her three grandchildren Randy Lee Croom (Chasity), Nicole Lee Croom, and Robin C. Sinicrope; great-grandchildren, Polly Croom, Willow Marie Sinicrope and Kinsley Renae Sinicrope.

A funeral service to celebrate Elizabeth’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 22nd at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow immediately in Sandhill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
