Donna Canady Sandvig

Donna Canady Sandvig, 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Donna was born January 25, 1952, and raised in New Bern, North Carolina. Donna graduated high school in 1970 and her passion for cosmetology became a lifelong successful career as a hair stylist. Donna and Glenn’s extraordinary 53-year love story began in high school, and they were married on July 17, 1970, in New Bern, where their daughter, Paige, was born in June of 1992.

Donna had a unique gift in the way she warmly interacted with others. She touched countless lives. Having never met a stranger, she spread love and friendship and was cherished by her community.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Glenn Sandvig; daughter, Paige Sandvig Watts; Son-in-Law, Jonathan Watts; Grandchildren, Kennedy and Carter Watts; And many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and extended family who adored her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Banks, James Canady, and Jesse Banks.

A celebration of life will be held at the New Bern Shrine Club on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Loved ones are welcome to visit between 1-4pm.
