Emma Jane Ireland Hart, 86, of Bridgeton went to be with her Lord on August 17, 2022, while at home. She had been battling cancer for two years. She was born and raised in Bayboro.

Emma Jane was preceded in death by her father and mother, George and Emma Ireland; her husband, Charlie Hart; her daughter, Debbie Roberts; two brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by her three sons, Preston Rouse and wife, Lynn, Robert “Jeff” Rouse and wife, Stephanie, and Timothy Hart, all of New Bern; sister, Shelby Bordeaux of New Bern; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express thanks to Community Health and Hospice for taking amazing care of Jane during her time of need.

Her graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 25 ^th at Sandhill Cemetery, Reelsboro.

The family will receive friends and relatives immediately following the graveside service at Emma Hart’s home on Frank Ave.
