Eugene Malloy, 71, passed away on February 17, 2026, in New Bern, NC. Born on September 2, 1954, Gene dedicated his life to his passions and the people he loved.

Gene was renowned for his career as an auto mechanic, a profession where his hands were as skilled as his heart was generous. There was truly nothing he couldn’t fix, a testament to his problem-solving skills and perseverance.

He attended Neshaminy High School, where he likely first developed his lifelong love for drag racing. This hobby was not just a pastime but a significant part of his life, bringing him close to a community of friends like Howard and Skip, and many others within the drag racing world.

Gene’s personal life was filled with love and loyalty. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Malloy; his brother, Gerald Malloy and his wife, Teresa; and several nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Malloy; brothers, James and John “Jack” Malloy; and sister, Patricia Torzone.

Known for his huge heart, Gene was a dedicated husband and a loyal friend. His home was a haven for many beloved pets over the years, both dogs and cats, reflecting his nurturing spirit. His passions were not just limited to the racetrack; he also cherished going on cruises with his wife, Kathy, and their friends, embracing the joy of life with every opportunity.

Per Gene’s wishes, he will be cremated, and there will be no public memorial service. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, friendship, and a life enthusiastically lived, which will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him. Gene’s memory will continue to inspire love and passion in the hearts of his loved ones and friends.
