Evelyn Briley Miller, 91, of Bayboro passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at The Gardens of Pamlico.

A faithful Christian, she has been a member of Bayboro Baptist Church since 1966 serving many roles throughout the years to include past president of WMU, Sunday school teacher, choir member, chairperson for the Lottie Moon and Annie Armstrong Mission and worked with the children and youth. She also traveled to Belize on a Mission Trip. She was a past member of Eastern Star-Bayboro Chapter.

A cherished wife and mother, her love of being “Mimi” was her greatest joy. Mrs. Evelyn worked at Sears while it was open in Alliance and later retired from Wachovia Bank.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Betty Briley; her beloved daughter, Debra Miller Watts; sister, Doris Broughton; and brother Nathan Columbus Briley, Jr.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her husband of 72 years, Robert B. Miller; sons, Ricky Miller (Paula) and Randy Miller (Sharon); son-in-law, Foster “Babe” Watts; sister, Betty Rawls (Phil); grandchildren, Matthew Jones (Erica), Brent Jones, and Macy (Lee) Payne; and great-grandson, Hunter Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to honor Mrs. Evelyn’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 1st at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel. She will be interred privately at Greenleaf Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service for an hour.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
