Everett Derwood Rice, Sr.
December 23, 1941 — October 8, 2024
Everett Derwood Rice, Sr., 82, of Merritt, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Rice; son, Everett Rice, Jr.; grandson, Kelly Manning; brothers, William Carlton Rice, Connie Rice, George Allen, and William Rice, Jr.; and sisters, Ruby Mae Norris and Gretchen Bennett.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 53 years, Lena Rice; children, Natasha Pipkin, Connie LeClair (James), and James Rice (Merita); sister, Judy Styron (Clyde); five grandchildren, Brook Geligoff (Jonah), Dawson Pipkin, Phillip Pipkin III, Aidan Stone, and Piper Stone; and one great-granddaughter, Maddison Geligoff.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 11th at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Blaney Rowe officiating.
