Frank James Kirby Richards, Sr.

Frank James Kirby Richards, Sr., 84, of Washington, NC passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, at home.

He was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division in the U.S. Army. He retired from PCS Phosphate, then worked as a commercial fisherman.  A devout Christian, he attended Edward Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Tennant Richards; two brothers; and two sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory are children, Sara Moore (Wayne), Frank Richards, Jr. (Kriste), Greg Richards (Phyllis), and David Richards (Jamie); grandchildren, Eryn Moore, Daniel Moore (Jessica), Frank Richards III, Brandon Richards (Carolina), Dana Benham (Jamie), Chad Richards (Meagan), Kaitlyn Cutler (Dylan), and Courtney Richards; and 11 great-grandchildren.

His memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 27th at Edward Christian Church with Pastor David Linton officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the church.
