Franklin Monroe Keller, Jr.

In memory of Franklin Monroe Keller Jr. whose passing was on February 3rd, 2022 following a brief illness.

Frank was born in the Air Force Hospital in Lake Mary, FL on September 5th, 1953. Growing up he lived in FL and CA. After graduating from Agoura H.S. in Agoura, CA, he lived in Thousand Oaks, CA briefly. Leaving Ventura County he moved to Westminster, CA and then to Las Vegas, NV, all the while working as a light technician for musicians, band and stage productions. He had the title "Frankie Follow Spot." He later attended Auburn University in Auburn, AL. He graduated with a degree in Architecture & Design. He then made his home in NC. His 2nd job was at the Trawl Door Restaurant, Oriental, NC where he was known for his famous mullet. Most of his career was in construction, Architecture Design, as a carpenter, builder & electrician. He was a master house designer, designing beautiful homes in Pamlico & Craven County. Those skills gave him tremendous joy; creating homes for families that in turn would be for their lifetime memories. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and assisted many over the course of his lifetime. He enjoyed being with family and friends and was never without a story to tell. In meeting his sister- in- law, her first reaction was, " Wow, he's so good looking!" He was also endeared with and known as, "Uncle Shank". He was a loving and adored son, brother, stepfather, grandpa, uncle, cousin and friend.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Franklin & Elsie Keller, formally of Oriental, NC. He is survived by his Stepdaughter, Laura Deaton Poss (John) of Greensboro, NC. Also, beloved of Franklin was his Step grandson, Xander. He is also survived by his siblings and their children. Sister: Pak Ingram (Rob) & sons Philip and Benjamin and their families. Brother: James Keller Sr., his daughter Rachelle Bertran (Joseph), & sons: James Thomas Keller, Franklin Monroe Keller III, James Keller Jr. Brother: Gordon Keller (Loana) & daughter Chelsie Keller and son Gordon Keller Jr.

Other surviving relatives: Uncle Walter Keller Sr., Cousin and best friend, Robert & Stacy Keller. Their families: Kevin & Lynn Peacock, Robbie & Erica Keller, Alex & Amanda Keller, Angie & Jonathan Toler, Michele Hilgers Jones, Danielle Krob and Uncle Frank’s special buddy Donovan.  Cousin Susan Keller, deceased. Her family: Scott & Daren Taylor, Erik Taylor, Summer & Joseph Curtis & Gerry Keller. Cousins: Carol Ann Whatley (Terry), their children & families. Russell Keller, (Norma), their children & families. Walter Keller Jr. (Sarah) their children & families. Wendy Frankland (Kevin) their children & families and also cousins: Kaky Sprague (Rick) their son & family. Barbara MC Ghee (Harold) their children & families.  Robert New (Bo) and his family.  And, lifelong friends the Clarke's, Greers, Faulkner's, and countless others he's known along the way.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
