Fred Alan Johnson, Sr.

Fred Alan Johnson, Sr., 78, of Bayboro, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 27, 2026.

Fred was a hardworking man who dedicated more than 40 years of service to Nutrien before retiring. Throughout his entire career, he proudly operated the same dragline, a testament to his loyalty, dedication, and strong work ethic.

When he wasn’t working, Fred enjoyed shrimping, hunting, fishing, or simply spending time on the water, he was happiest surrounded by nature. He also enjoyed showing horses, especially his beloved Appaloosas, which held a special place in his heart.

He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and playful personality. He was rarely serious, always ready with a joke or a funny story that could bring a smile to anyone’s face. He especially enjoyed chatting over his CB radios. He also had a great appreciation for good seafood and treasured the simple pleasures of life spent with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest & Enid Johnson; brother, Austin Johnson; and granddaughter, Alana Johnson.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Paula Davis (Thomas); sons, Fred Johnson, Jr. (Tracy) and Matthew Johsnon (Alison); grandchildren, Ashlea Jones (Nathaniel), Lauren Davis, Olivia Fields (Nick), Jarrett Davis (Rebecca), Mya Jones (Chris), Carlee Johnson, Amy Johnson, Alan Johnson, Tru Johnson, and Jewely Johnson; great grandchildren, Autumn Jones, Phallon Jones, Levi VanHook, Ava Fields, Luna Fields, and Annaleia Pichardo-Madrid; and his beloved pet, Misty.

A funeral service to celebrate Fred’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 31st at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home. Interment will be at the residence.

The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family suggested casual wear because he never wanted to be “fancy”.
