George Dixon Baxter Jr.

George Dixon Baxter, Jr., 64, of Oriental passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Gardens of Pamlico.

George was a man who loved life’s simple joys – spending time with his family, casting a line while fishing, collecting coins and comic books, and enjoying a good round of golf. He was a member of Bayboro Baptist Church and a familiar face to many, having worked with Trent Olds-Cadillac in New Bern for 24 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Dixon Baxter, Sr. and mother, Carolyn Ann Spain Baxter, and brother, William R. Baxter.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory the mother of his children, Cara Baxter; son, George D. Baxter, III; daughters, Ann Marie Baxter Conner and husband, David, and Brandy Lynn Baxter and partner, Joe Jones; his cherished grandchildren, Jordyn and Lucus Baxter; and sister, Carol Ann Baxter Miller and husband, Chris.

A Celebration of George’s life will be announced at a later date for family and friends to gather and honor his memory.
