Gregory "Greg" Scott Leonard

Gregory “Greg” Scott Leonard, 62, of Oriental, NC, passed away peacefully at his home on June 26, 2026.

Greg was truly the light of his parents’ lives. He embraced life with a joyful spirit and lived each day to the fullest until illness slowed him down. Blessed with a warm smile and an outgoing personality, Greg never met a stranger. He had a gift for making friends wherever he went and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Oriental held a special place in Greg’s heart. He loved the beauty and peacefulness of the community he called home. Whether he was spending time on the water fishing, enjoying the outdoors while hunting, or simply sharing stories and laughter with friends, Greg found happiness in life’s simple pleasures.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving parents, Gary and Pat Leonard; his aunts and uncles, Ronald & Lynn Leonard, Donald & Nancy Hege, Barbara & Nelson Bostian and Becky Leonard; as well as many beloved cousins and dear friends who will forever remember his kind heart and friendly nature.

A memorial service to celebrate Greg’s life will be held at Oriental United Methodist Church, 404 Freemason St., Oriental, on Saturday, July 11th beginning at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
