Guy Swain Jones

Guy Swain Jones, 89, of Florence passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021, at home.

He is a member of Concord Christian Church. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World and Bayboro Masonic Lodge #331. He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard then worked as a small engine repairman from his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Zeta Jones; one son, Michael Thomas Jones; two daughters, Teresa Ellen Jones and Barbara Anne Jones; brothers, Floyd Jones, Vernon Jones and Benny Jones; and sister, Ella Mae Lupton.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Gentry Sanders Jones; son, Doug Jones (Kathy); brothers, Raymond Jones (Mattie), and Len Taylor Jones (Rosa); sisters-in-law, Margarita Jones, and Annette Jones; grandsons, Doug Jones Jr. (Sarah) and Brandon Jones; and two great grandsons, Dawson Vaughn Jones & Carter Swain Jones.

His graveside service with Masonic Rites by Bayboro Lodge #331 and military honors will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 10, 2021 with Dr. Robert Cayton officiating at Concord Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside at the Concord Christian Church Fellowship Hall and at other times at the home.
