Hampton Walter Slade

Hampton Walter “H.W.” Slade, Jr., 70, of Reelsboro passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Crystal Coast Hospice House.

H.W. is a member of Amity Christian Church. He retired from PCS Phosphate after 43 years of service. He loved old model cars, car shows, and commercial fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hampton and Minnie Slade; sister, Mamie Banks; and grandson, Samuel Cummings.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Slade; sons, Chris Slade and Eric Slade; step-daughters, Ashley Kulcher and Darlene Kulcher; and step-sons, Michael Klos and David Klos, Jr.; and six grandchildren, Scarlet Anderson, Ethan Cummings, Isaac Cummings, Alba Wilson, Jacob Holt and Harlow Holt.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2022, at the home, 124 Sandy Trail Rd., New Bern, NC 28560 (Reelsboro).

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
