Hilda Simpson Brinson, 78, of Arapahoe passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

Hilda worked as a teacher’s assistant for 27 years impacting the lives of children from Fred A. Anderson Elementary School, Arapahoe School, and Arapahoe Charter School. Although her role in the classroom was meaningful, her most cherished job was that of wife, mother, and grandmother. Appearance was of utmost importance to Hilda; you never saw her with anything out of place. Her husband, children, and “her boys” didn’t escape her keen eye, she made sure they all looked their best before leaving home.

Hilda was a faithful member of Reelsboro Christian Church where she displayed her talent as a pianist. She found joy and happiness working in her yard, which is evident in the display of flowers around her home. Hilda also had a fondness for shopping trips with “The Girls”. She also enjoyed majestic views of the mountains when traveling with family and close friends. She will also be remembered for organizing and hosting many family cookouts.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of nearly 60 years, Frank Brinson; sons, Todd Brinson and Greg Brinson (Melanie) brother, David Simpson; sisters, Priscilla Owens, Dorinda Akins, and Sharon Thomason; and three grandsons, “her boys”, Adam, Jacob and Aaron Brinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Beulah Simpson.

A funeral service to honor Hilda’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 19th at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Paul Cemetery, Arapahoe. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
