Iris Ruth Keel Dixon, 101, of Grantsboro, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray T. Dixon, Sr. and her cherished great-grandson, Damian Ray Nobles.
Iris leaves behind a large and loving family who will cherish her memory. She is survived by her children, Linda Cunio, Martha Banks (Charles), Ray T. Dixon, Jr. (Jean), and Julia Isenhart (Porter).
She is a proud grandmother to Jesse R. Cunio, Judy Eastwood, Christina Ormond, Michelle Banks, Crystal Banks (Willie), Michael Dixon (Melissa), Melanie Dixon, Christopher Dixon (Becky), and Robert Isenhart.
Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Haley Potter, Dennis Eastwood, Jr. (Hillary), Alexis Ratliff(Cayne), Charlie Ormond, Katie Ormond, Kris Ormond, Reagan Ormond, Raeanne Knight (Cam), Reagan Dixon, Hunter Baker, Emma Baker, and Logan Dixon.
She was also blessed with great-great-grandchildren, Cambrie Ratliff, Cayne Ratliff, and Violet Eastwood.
Iris lived a long and full life surrounded by family. She will be remembered for her strength, love, and the generations she helped shape. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever treasured by those who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held Monday, April 27th from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home in Alliance.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 28th beginning at 11 a.m. also at the funeral home. Internment will follow immediately in Grantsboro Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Gentiva Hospice, 1423 S. Glenburnie Rd., New Bern, NC 28562.
