Jerry Lee Lowery, 65, of Goose Creek, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
Jerry was born on April 2, 1961, to the late Cecil Dixon and Ruth Dixon. He was a man who truly loved life, family, and the water. Whether he was fishing, shrimping, or simply spending time on the water, that was where he was the happiest. He also loved football and enjoyed spending time with the people he cared about most.
Jerry will be remembered for his personality, his love for family and friends, and the countless memories he created with those around him. If you knew Jerry, you knew he never met a stranger and always found a way to make people laugh and feel welcome.
He is survived by his children, Jeremy W. Lowery, Jacob A. Lowery, and Rebecca Wright and husband Joseph L. Wright III; grandchildren, Peyton B. Lowery, Ella G. Lowery, Jaylen M. Wright, Savannah Wright, Milik S. Wright, and Rondyl L. Wright; his mother, Ruth Dixon; brother, Larry Dixon; sister, Christy Strickland; along with many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
In addition to his father, Cecil Dixon, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Dixon.
Jerry also shared a lifelong friendship with his childhood best friend, Mark Hardison, who remained a special and important part of his life throughout the years.
In honoring Jerry’s wishes, there will not be a traditional funeral service. Instead, the family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date. And if you knew Jerry Lowery, you know that sounds exactly like him.
The family appreciates all the love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Additional details regarding the Celebration of Life will be announced in the coming days.
