John Marshall Wickham

John Marshall Wickham, 76, from New Bern, NC passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, surrounded by his family and dear friends.

John loved Jesus, his family, his church, fishing, and anything Clemson. He was born in Bluefield, WV, raised in Charlotte and graduated from Clemson University in 1969. He worked with Kmart Corporation for thirty years and then as a Financial Advisor for twenty. He loved to volunteer and serve through his church communities. He was a former elder and Board of Trustee at Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Raleigh, NC. As a recent member of Garber Methodist Church, he served on multiple committees, but his favorite time was with the Kingswood After School Kids every Thursday. John was a steadfast attendee of BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) and FMF (Friday Morning Fellowship) in Raleigh and continued that with Tuesday Morning Bible Study at Garber.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Esther Webb; father, John White Wickham; and stepfather, Louis Brewer Webb.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Jane Brantley Wickham; children, Allison Wickham Simmons (Jeff) of New Bern, NC and Thomas Marshall Wickham (Allison) of Pinellas Park, FL; six grandchildren who affectionately know, love and called him G-Daddy, Elizabeth Jane Simmons, Mary Caroline Simmons, John Brewer Simmons, William Houston Wickham, Henry Marshall Wickham, and Vivian White Wickham; and one sister, Weeta Jane Baldwin (Bruce) of Loganville, Ga.

His memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 25th at Garber Methodist Church, 4201 Country Club Rd., Trent Woods, NC 28562. A reception will follow afterwards in Morris Hall.
