Joyce McGee Snell

Joyce McGee Snell, 78, of Aurora, passed away on December 21, 2025, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

Joyce was born and raised in Beaufort County, NC and attended South Creek Baptist Church in her early years, where she built a foundation of faith and community that stayed with her throughout her life. She found great joy in the simple pleasures – working in her garden, planting flowers, and spending time outdoors.

She absolutely adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. One of her greatest passions was cooking and baking. She spent countless hours researching recipes, carefully copying them down, and sharing her love through homemade meals and treats for her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles F. Snell; her sister, Pearl Cox; and her brothers, Ronald and Donald McGee.

Joyce leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Charles R. Snell and David “Bradley” Snell; her daughter, Christina Ann Carawan and husband, Aaron; sister, Rita; and her cherished grandchildren, Ciarrah, Brianna, and Gavin Carawan.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
