Larry Wayne Spivey, Sr.

Larry Wayne Spivey, Sr., 70, of Grantsboro passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.

He was a member of Goose Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church. He worked over 40 years with the Taylor family of New Bern. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Spivey; grandson, Patrick Shaw; and brother, Robert Spivey.

Larry’s memory will be cherished by his wife, Leslie Spivey; children, Larry Spivey, Jr. (Mary), Nancy Cullember (John), and Jeffrey Spivey (Amy); brother, Jack Spivey; sisters, Kathy Murphy and Susan Cauley (Billy); eleven grandchildren, Alexus Spivey, Hannah Spivey, Blaine Spivey, Dakota Spivey, Hunter Hobbs, Ashley Wiggins, Nathan Shaw, Taylor Shaw, John Cullember, Jr., Brandon Ipock, and Sam Spivey; and eight great-grandchildren, Carter, Landen, Cassidy, Sawyer, Cannan, Sadie, Asher and Messiah.

His memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 31 ^st at Goose Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Cindy Midyette officiating.
