Levy Robert O'Neal

Levy Robert O'Neal, 93, died peacefully at home in Reelsboro, NC on May 21, 2024.

He was a member of the Warden's Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Lowland, NC, where he was born and lived most of his life. Levy served his country in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic and worked as a tugboat chief engineer for Maritrans, Philadelphia. He enjoyed hunting deer, doves and ducks, vegetable gardening, net fishing, raising chickens and splitting wood for his fireplace.

Levy was preceded in death by two daughters, Cindy O'Neal Sawyer, and Brenda O'Neal; parents, Rudolph, and Macy O'Neal; brother, Curtis (Turk) O'Neal; sisters, Tempie Lupton, and Betty Lou (Bootsie) Wilkins; son-in-law, Clifton (Pie) Sawyer; brothers-in-law, Albert McKinney, and Alford Wilkins; and sisters-in-law, Sarah Smith, and Mavis O'Neal.

Levy is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Athalea (Ban) Watson O'Neal; two daughters, Susan O’Neal, and Linda O'Neal Goodson; three grandsons, Cliff (Ashley) Sawyer, Matt (Missy) Sawyer, and Wes Goodson; great-granddaughters, Morgan, and Macey Sawyer; sister, Edna McKinney; brother, Billy Smith; brother-in-law, Chris Lupton; four nephews and nine nieces.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 28th, at Warden's Grove FWB church in Lowland, NC.
