Linda Meis Sanders

Linda Meis Sanders, 71, of Florence, NC, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on April 19, 2026, at Grantsbrook Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Grantsboro, NC. Born in Wichita, KS, on May 10, 1954, she was the eldest daughter of seven children to Lawrence and Mildred Meis.

Linda is preceded in death by both of her parents; her loving husband of 35 years, Roderick "Rod" Sanders; youngest daughter, Crystal Sanders; grandson, Roderick Sanders; brothers, Lawrence "Larry" Meis Jr. and James Meis; in-laws: Edward "Dalton" & Sarah Sanders.

After graduating from high school, Linda met Rod at the airport in Atlanta, GA. While Rod was enlisted in the Navy and stationed in Norfolk, VA, the couple married in 1975. After his enlistment ended, the family of four moved back to his home community of Florence, NC. Linda enjoyed being a homemaker for most of her life. In addition to attending Concord Christian Church, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading, solving puzzles, and visiting with family and friends. Linda loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She was outgoing, loved to laugh, and tried to bring joy to all those around her. Her passing leaves a profound sense of loss for those who knew her, reminding us of the deep connections she shared with family and friends.

Linda leaves behind three daughters: Tanya (Robert) Little, Patricia Riggs, and Nicki (Clay) Ernst; nine grandchildren: Justin Little, Tyler Little, Allison Dixon, Aaron "Del" (Cynthia) Dixon, Shawn Ernst, Hannah Riggs, Summer Little, Jaden Ernst, and Ernest "Bryan" Riggs; five great-grandchildren: Autumn Little, Ashton Begley, Niklaus Ernst, Mikael Ernst, and Jackson Riggs; four siblings: Jack Meis, Andy Meis, Kristina McCluer, and Geraldine Fulk; and numerous nieces and nephews.

We invite family, friends, and the community to come together to honor Linda's life and legacy at the graveside service with the Rev. Riley Green officiating at 11:00 a.m. on April 25, 2026, at Concord Christian Gardens in Florence, NC. Your presence and support will help us celebrate her memory and the impact she had on all of us.
