A homecoming for a true friend and believer in Christ took place Wednesday, March 21, 2018, as “Papa Pete” entered heaven’s gates with a smile on his face and joy in his heart.  He passed at CarolinaEast Medical Center under the care of the most compassionate and caring staff possible.

A cherished and caring father to Kristy, Karla and Pete, he will be remembered for his love of Christ, family and friends.

At the age of 68, Pete Jr will be lovingly memorialized and celebrated by his children (Karla and Pete), mother of his children and life-long friend (Helen Leary), eight grandchildren (Grace, Meg, Annie, Mitchell, Ben, Luke, Madison and Ella), grand-dog (Ricky Puppy), sisters (Irene Hardison and Gertie Caraway), and numerous friends made throughout the years from his outgoing personality and genuine care to others.

His contagious smile will be missed here on Earth, but a joyous reuniting is taking place with his daughter (Kristy), daughter-in-law (Vanessa), parents (Pete Sr. and Jurene), along with family and loved ones who have passed before him.

A visitation honoring his legacy will take place Sunday, March 25, from 5 to 7:00 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home, 52 Bryant St., Alliance, NC 28509.

A funeral service celebrating the life and newfound eternal joy of Papa Pete will be held on Monday, March 26 ^th , at 10:00 a.m., at Two River’s Church, 3321 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC 28560, with a grave side service taking place at Greenleaf Memorial Park Lakeside Chapel immediately following.

Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of ‘Papa Pete’ to Two Rivers Church of New Bern, 3321 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC 28560, in continuing their mission to Love God, Love Others and Love the World, something he did with every opportunity here on Earth.
