Mack Allen Mcadam

September 5, 2022 — August 20, 2024

Mack Allen McAdam was born on September 5th, 2022, in New Bern, North Carolina to Alex Sword and Kylie Midyette. He gained his angel wings on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

At just 3 months old he was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy, caused by a mutation in his SCN8A gene. From then on Mack faced unimaginable challenges and overcame many obstacles. Despite the problems he faced, Mack showed such resilience and pure joy every day.

Though his life on this earth was too short, Mack’s impact on our lives has been immeasurable. He taught everyone around him to slow down and appreciate the little moments and to never take a single second for granted. Mack gave our lives a purpose we never knew we were looking for.

Mack enjoyed spending time outside, especially going on stroller walks around the neighborhood and playing in the rain. Mack loved his family and would never let you leave without a smooch and snuggle.

He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfather whom he was named after, Mack McAdam and paternal grandfather, Ervin Sadler.

Mack will be deeply missed by his parents, Alex and Kylie; maternal grandparents, Charles and Karen Midyette; paternal grandparents, Daniel and Shawna Bland; and paternal great-grandmother, Natalie McAdam; aunts, Ashely Velez, Jessica Henries, and Piper Midyette; uncle, Lukas Bland (Savannah); and cousins, Ryleigh, Jacob, Keira, Naomi, Laura, and Charlie.

A visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home on Sunday, August 25th.

Our hearts are shattered by the loss of our beautiful, perfect boy, but we are comforted in knowing he is free of all earthly burdens. Though we know his life was cut short, to him it was full of love and wonder. We are so lucky to have loved and been loved by you, Mack.

We are so lucky to have spent this time with you. From the moment we knew you were coming, a new space in our hearts was made- just for you! We had no idea that new space would also start overflowing and growing at that exact moment. With each scary new turn you faced, you answered back with resilience and a smirk. You brought the brightest shine to every occasion, and you were the biggest spirit in every room you entered.

There will never be another sunny day with a cool breeze that won’t make us think of you; it will light us up the same way it did for you. Every rain will make us think of your silly faces and contagious laugh. Your laugh will echo in our heads and hearts for the rest of our lives. And when we look around at everyone who has the same, big, filled up space in their hearts, we will feel your sweet hugs and remember the way you loved us all so much.

There could never have been enough time, but we wish so much that there was more. We cannot say goodbye, so we will just say we can’t wait until we get to see you again.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to The Cute Syndrome Foundation, PO Box 842 Ozark, MO 65721.
