Margaret Deharte Horne

Margaret "Peg" Horne, age 99, resident of New Bern North Carolina passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021, at her home.

Margaret Claudia DeHarte was born to Charles Langhorne and Grace (Stultz) DeHarte on July 8, 1922, in Stone, Kentucky. following her graduation from Business College she enlisted in the US Navy and served with the Office of Naval Intelligence. She was honorably discharged on December 9, 1961.  She married Jordan Cofield Horne on April 27, 1961, Las Cruces New Mexico. The couple enjoyed many years of exciting adventures living in many different countries around the world. While stationed in Ethiopia, she received a trophy for a hole in one on a local golf course. She was also a member of River Bend LGA (Ladies Golf Association) for nearly 20 years. She retired from the U.S. Civil Service, after many years of faithful service.

Peg was preceded in death by her parents and husband Jordan Horne. Peg is survived by two nieces and one nephew.

Per her request she will be interned next to her husband at Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville North Carolina.
